Cancun receives the Climate changes conference

Once again as the last year in Copenhagen the United National Organisation brings the Climate Change Conference, but this time to Cancun, Mexico.

This is the 16th edition for the United National Organization Framework Convention parties and 6th for those parties meeting after signing the Kyoto protocol, been a total of more than 150 states . Participants propose new ideas to contribute to sustainable activities and the conservation of the climate. This event is a clearly manifestation that everyone is concerned talking about sustainable development and climate changes

Within the main activities conferences about scientific and technological advantages to climate changes, collaboration in sustainable development projects, a forum about Intangible Heritage and climate change, and more. As a sustainable destination Cancun is the 2010 face for the conference, a city where tourism activities are a really success. “In Cancun, involved parties  have an excellent opportunity to generate new forces and to create a new era for the global climatically co-operation”

From November 29th to December 10th, information, new ideas and contribution to climate changes will be running around the world.

Bicycle cities are a contribution to sustainable development

Bike cities is a  new system that is trying to contribute to sustainable development activities. Different cities around the world have already implemented the bike service, allowing everyone to move within a urban city without pollute!

The bike city service has born in the French city La Rochelle in 1973 when the word environment started to be pronounced. It was a labour that encouraged other cities to create the same service. Nowadays the bikes are consider as a fantastic way of transporting, considering that traffic and pollution are not an inconvenient.

Within the main bike friendly cities there are Helsinki in Finland, Leipzig and Stuttgart in Germany, Oslo in Norway, Amsterdam which is the number one of the bike cities. in France, Lyon, Paris, Montpellier and Avignon are consider as a « ville vélo » , also Valencia and Barcelona in Spain.

Copenhagen: Best destination for 2011

The European Consumers choice awards (ECA) has given the list of the best destinations for 2011. This time, consumers has chosen the Denmark’s capital after a strong competition with other European cities. The delegate of the ECA has visited each of nominated cities, then the voting was opened for 31 days letting the public have the last word.  Copenhagen has reported the first place with 2894 votes in total followed by Barcelona 2403 and Berlin in the third place with1648 of the 50 000 total votes.

Copenhagen is a city that is so involved in sustainable activities. The city has organised everything necessary for the last year Copenhagen conference on climatic change, and also has started to developed new ideas to contribute to sustainable activities.

Romania’s new « green » logo

The Romanian tourism office has changed its logo, innovating the tourism industry in the country and in Europe. This is the new face of Romania’s tourism that is promoting cultural heritage and natural regions, and inviting tourists to discover the green side of Romania as the slogan says « explore the Carpathian garden ». The Carpathian part of Romania is well know for its beautiful areas as well as for its mountains and lacs, that results a perfect combination to enjoy a eco-sustainable destination.
