Keep travellers healthy
18 11 2010Orbitz Worldwide (USA leading worldwide online travel agent) and Walgreens (American drugstore chain) are working together to lute against travellers sick. The initiative has resulted from the last report that reveals 25 percent of travellers have had holiday trips interrupted by illness.
The campaign promotes good measures to follow before and during holidays. The groups are focusing mainly on to educate travellers to take the reasonable ways to enjoy holidays as possible as they can, especially because this is the highest season reporting travellers sick.
“This reinforces the need to educate travellers about important yet easy steps they can take to stay healthy during the holiday travel season,” said Cheryl Pegus, Walgreens chief medical officer. “As travellers place a growing emphasis on health and wellness, we’ll provide the resources and information to help them stay well throughout the year.”
The partnership propose the following measures
• Get a seasonal flu shot
• Wash hands frequently using soap and water or an alcohol-based rub
• Don’t touch your eyes, hands or mouth when hands haven’t been washed
• Get enough sleep – Annals of Medicine studies show those who get fewer than seven hours of sleep are three times more likely to develop a cold when exposed to the virus
• Eat right and exercise regularly
Whether you like to enjoy a your winter holidays in good health conditions or just to be a healthy educated travel, follow the measures indicated and let yourself take care of your holidays.
