Bicycle cities are a contribution to sustainable development
26 11 2010Bike cities is a new system that is trying to contribute to sustainable development activities. Different cities around the world have already implemented the bike service, allowing everyone to move within a urban city without pollute!
The bike city service has born in the French city La Rochelle in 1973 when the word environment started to be pronounced. It was a labour that encouraged other cities to create the same service. Nowadays the bikes are consider as a fantastic way of transporting, considering that traffic and pollution are not an inconvenient.
Within the main bike friendly cities there are Helsinki in Finland, Leipzig and Stuttgart in Germany, Oslo in Norway, Amsterdam which is the number one of the bike cities. in France, Lyon, Paris, Montpellier and Avignon are consider as a « ville vélo » , also Valencia and Barcelona in Spain.
